The first block of classes has ended. And so as a thank you to my instructors, they each received cheese wax effigies of themselves:

Peter, our Safety/Sanitation teacher, complete with spiffy tie and ServeSafe textbook.
Chef Tim, with his trademark oddly-shaped (octagonal) water bottle with tiny green logo.
Chef Scott, with an apron representing his aspirations to work at the Whole Foods, just up the street.

And of course, credit is due to Dean Rocco for dubbing me Cheese Wiz. Here, he sports his stylish pointy shoes and ever-present Blackberry.
Yes, everything was handmade, even the itty bitty toques. Those were definitely an origami challenge. If the tradition is to continue, I need to find a more efficient way to construct them.
